Red Wolf

By: Madison Mondeaux

Red Wolf is a horror play about a wolf like creature that kills little girls who are left alone at night. We follow the family of the daughter of the Red Wolf in their small inn in Oregon. The Wolf has finally come for his last victim, his daughter. The space had to double as both the lobby and the rooms of the Inn.

I designed and directed this production of Hamlet. For this production Hamlet was played by a trans man and we explored themes about how masculinity interacts with politics in the United States and how we can see that in some of the political dynasties of our day. The space needed to be very versatile allowing for quick transitions between scenes, while having a sort of looming presence throughout the show.

Triangle

Torrance High School 2022

Director: Darryl B. Hovis

Triangle is a play about two immigrant sisters who are living in the apartments where two women, who died in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire, used to live. The elder sister is visited by their ghosts and is told the story of the conditions  they lived in. We see the similarities of how their conditions now are with theirs then. For this production we had to emulate the conditions of the factor while also being in the burnt remains.
